Kopral & Shelton

Kopral & Shelton are two very special orangutans who require extra love and care. Due to their disabilities caused by horrible tragedies, neither can be released back into the wild. There two have miraculously found strength and friendship in each other. We need your help to care for these two special friends of ours for the rest of their lives.

Four month old Sura did not only suffer the tragic loss of his mother at a very young age, he also suffered the loss of three fingers on his left hand during his capture.

Hope arrived in Samboja Lestari in a critical condition with very slim chances of recovery. He is now one of the most promising students in Forest School.

Ben was born in Nyaru Menteng, but sadly he was rejected by his mother. With no alternative, we have raised Ben lovingly by hand.

Ello had been kept illegally by a villager before we brought him to Nyaru Menteng. He is now “king” of the nursery playground.

Yordanka was born in Samboja Lestari and despite all attempts, she was rejected by her mother. Under the care of our team she is growing into a beautiful young orangutan.

Named after the paramedic who saved him, this tiny orangutan came to Nyaru Menteng very dehydrated. He is now 4 years old and thriving under the care of his babysitters.

Starving and having to resort to foraging in a villager’s oil palm farm, Jumbo lost his mother and he was caught to be kept as a pet before being handed over to Nyaru Menteng.

Cinta lost her mother when she was only three months old. Now she is being taken care of and showered with heaps of love by the babysitters at Baby Nursery in Nyaru Menteng.
